At this critical juncture in our social history, it is more important than ever that girls be given appropriate guidance during this vulnerable time in their lives when society is providing them with many conflicting and confusing messages about how a young woman should present herself. This program allows participants to explore societal outlooks and values as they practice life skills for nutritional eating, physical fitness, accessing the health care system, resolving conflict and building all around healthy relationships. Using health, prevention education and self-esteem enhancement activities, girls develop positive attitudes, build effective life skills, and feel empowered to become responsible adult women.
