ASTOP received $2500 for prevention education to reduce the incidents of sexual assault. With the assistance of the FDL Women’s Fund, ASTOP will reach youth through school and community presentations, Presentation topics will include Protective Behaviors, Sexual Assault 101, consent, healthy relationships, human trafficking, sexual harassment, and technology safety. In the United States, eight out of ten women experience some form of sexual abuse in their lifetime. Primary prevention education is a proactive approach to ending violence, hopefully reaching individuals before a perpetration or victimization has occurred.
