Sparking more conversation in 2018

Erin Gerrad

It is hard to believe that it has almost been one year since the Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund announced the initiative of preventing violence against women and girls at the April 2017 Power of the Purse.  Since that time, the Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund has launched Fond du Lac Says No More and Project TableTalk to build awareness and spark conversations surrounding this issue that impacts our community.  Without the support of the Fond du Lac community, businesses and agencies, this message of no longer tolerating violence against women and girls would not have spread and opened the eyes and ears of so many. But we are just beginning! So much more can and will be accomplished in the upcoming year and your support is needed to continue to build the momentum and to continue the positive change that is happening in our community.  Now that conversations are taking place and awareness of this critical issue has been created, it is time for the community and the Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund to take the next steps.

Your support through volunteering on a committee or a financial contribution, no matter the size, will go a long way in ensuring that not only the initiative of preventing violence against women and girls moves forward but also supports the grants the Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund provides for programs that support women and girls in the areas of education, leadership development, financial self-sufficiency and safety, dignity, and freedom from violence.
