The Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund is proud to announce that Laurice Snyder, a distinguished advocate for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB), will be honored as the 2024 Woman of Achievement at the annual Power of the Purse Luncheon. This prestigious event will take place on Wednesday, April 24th, at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center.
Laurice Snyder, renowned for her expertise as a DEIB Consultant with CESA 6, has been instrumental in driving positive change and fostering inclusivity within the Fond du Lac community and beyond. Her impactful career includes roles such as the DEI Coordinator of Equity with the Fond du Lac School District and Diversity Relations Manager with Moraine Park Technical College.
Jolene Schatzinger, Executive Director of the Women’s Fund, expressed her admiration for Snyder’s tireless dedication, stating, “We are so fortunate to be able to celebrate a woman that has been a compassionate partner for so many in our community, leading courageous conversations with care, grace, and authenticity. She is an inspiration to so many. Her work is a testament to the incredible power of sharing our stories and shining a light on all the ways that our stories connect us.”
In her capacity as a nationwide DEIB Consultant, Snyder has been a driving force behind strategic initiatives focused on promoting inclusivity and diversity within schools and businesses. Her commitment to empowering individuals to recognize and utilize their unique gifts has left an indelible mark on the community. Her passion for advocacy began early in life, witnessing firsthand the adversity faced by many in our community. But what impacted her most was the firm belief, instilled by her mother, that no matter our situation, we all have gifts and we all can offer those gifts to others. Whether it be an honest conversation with a community member or a formal coaching session with an organization’s leadership team, Snyder believes in helping women and girls use their voices, be committed to themselves, and celebrate each moment of learning along the way.
The Power of the Purse Luncheon serves as a platform to honor local changemakers like Snyder while also raising vital funds to support initiatives empowering women and girls in the Fond du Lac area. Since its inception in 2004, the Women’s Fund has awarded over $300,000 in grants to local 501(c)3 organizations aligned with its mission.
