2022 Strategic Grant Application – Deadline October 15, 2022 (Apply by Invitation Only)

Strategic Grants are meant to be three-year agreements whereby at least two collaborating agencies seek to address a larger issue confronting women and/or girls in Fond du Lac County. The proposed total amount of the grant for the 2022-25 cycle is $15,000. The FDLA Women’s Fund foresees this as allocations of $5,000 each year to be utilized in 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Funding Priorities

Project/programs funded by Strategic Grants do not necessarily need to be new, but should include innovation and bigger thinking if within the context of an existing project/program. It is perfectly acceptable that collaborating agencies utilize some, if not all, of the available funding in the first year to craft the structure of the project/program itself. A potential three-year structural plan may look like the following:

As we adjust to the impact of the pandemic, specifically related to the findings of COVID-19’s Impact on Women in Northeastern Wisconsin Survey, we recognize a need to expand our support of women and

Year 1: Research and planning phase
Year 2: Pilot year with the understanding that outcome measures may not fully be met and/or may have to be recalibrated after one year of trial-and-error
Year 3: Project/program outcomes adjusted to ensure efficacy for success and executed with full intent of facilitating lasting change not only for the participating agencies, but more importantly, for women and/or children served directly, as well as the community at-large

Mission, Pillars and Vision of the Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund

We will be limiting the maximum amount of each grant request this year to $2,500 apiece to greater maximize the funds available.

Economic Self-Sufficiency – helping women and girls meet their basic needs, and gain the resources and knowledge to be secure
Education – helping women and girls recognize their abilities and fulfill their dreams

Health and Well-Being – helping women and girls grow strong in body and mind to reach their full potential
Leadership Development – helping women and girls identify, develop and utilize their leadership skills
Safety, Dignity, and Freedom from Violence – helping women and girls live safely, and cultivate self-respect and self-esteem

Each of these five pillars has a unique focus. They are also interdependent, each enhancing or emphasizing the importance of the others. Together, they strive to reach our vision of: • An inclusive community where all women and girls thrive. No exceptions.

Timelines and Procedures

9/1/22: Strategic Grant applications available online.
10/15/22: Strategic Grant applications due.
10/17/22-11/15/22: Grants Committee to review applications, schedule Interviews and make final recommendations to FDLAWF Board of Directors.
12/15/22: Strategic Grants awards announced.
1/1/23: Strategic Grants projects begin.

Year 1 Strategic Grant Report due November 1, 2023 (please note previous year’s grant evaluation must be submitted in order for year 2 grant allocation)
Year 2 funding allocations awarded 12-15-23
Year 2 Strategic Grant Report due November 1, 2024 (please note previous year’s grant evaluation must be submitted in order for year 3 grant allocation)
Year 3 funding allocations awarded 12-15-24
Final Strategic Grant Report due November 1, 2025 (please note final grant report is required to close out the process)

Please note the same fiscal agent organization is not allowed to apply for another Strategic Grant in the 2025 Cycle.
Each collaborating organization is eligible to apply for FDLAWF Annual Grants at a limit of $2,500 per year.
